Permissions Clearance Project Management
Writing to Commission
Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your needs.
Clearing permission can give you a headache! There is no denying that the permissions world can be a minefield
- ask anyone who works there! We offer a complete Permissions Clearance Project Management service. We seek permissions on behalf of
our clients - publishers, agents, editors, individuals - conducting most of our business by email, phone and fax.
We have worked as freelance Permissions Clearance Project Specialists since 2004, successfully completing full World English Language rights clearance for 38 anthologies (poetry and short story) and assisted on several projects clearing image rights. We have completed projects for publishers in the UK and the USA. We can oversee an entire project from start to finish, or clear just a handful of permissions as part of a larger project.
We undertake permissions research, contract checking and fee negotiation. Once we have found the correct rights holder and contacted them, we negotiate terms and fees that are fair to both parties. Simply advise us of the pieces that you intend to use, and let us know your budget - we will do the rest.
Whether you are a publisher who needs a proof reader for a whole book or magazine articles, a business that
needs a new brochure or menu checked over, or a student who needs an essay reviewed, we offer a freelance proofreading service that is
adapted to your needs to help you create error-free texts.
We have experience in the following areas:
Our copy editing service ensures raw text is free from spelling, punctuation, grammatical, syntax and consistency errors, but it doesn't end there. We look at sentence structure and whether or not the language is appropriate for its intended audience. We check cultural, legal or historical facts for accuracy. We pay attention to content (is there anything missing or superfluous?) and structure (is it in a logical order?) Our service can be tailored to your specific requirements.
Julie is a writer at heart and she writes purely for the pleasure of writing. She loves the English Language and playing with words. She is happy to undertake a range of projects including:
I am a writer, reader, publishing minion and chocolate cake connoisseur.
I have always been a writer at heart, winning a creative writing competition run by the Trustee Savings Bank (remember them?) when I was at junior school. The prize was a bank account with £5 in it. I thought I had hit the big time! I write for the pleasure of writing. I am not chasing a massive book deal, and I would never want to be a 'famous author' - I like the quiet life too much!
I read for pleasure, too, but also to earn a living. Being an incurable pedant helps. I am one of those annoying people who correct the chalkboard menus outside pubs, licking my finger and rubbing out the unwanted apostrophe.
I have a BA (Hons) in Literature and I have studied Creative Writing. I am also fascinated by Law and I am about to embark on a Post Graduate Certificate specialising in Intellectual Property Protection to further enhance my knowledge of copyright.
I live on the South East Coast, close to a beautiful beach in Sussex, where I spend the summer holidays managing a beach-side gift
shop. We sell everything from sun-block and safety pins to Kiss-Me-Quick hats and fridge magnets. We make a mean 'Mr Whippy' ice cream
with a reputation that brings people in from far and wide!
I also eat far too much chocolate cake.
